A deputy sheriff's conviction for deprivation of a suspect's rights under color of law, 18 U.S.C. section 242, could be a "crime of violence" for purposes of an accompanying discharge of a firearm count under 18 U.S.C. section 924(c)(1)(A)(iii); civil rights conviction is affirmed over claims of evidentiary error and prosecutor misconduct.
