PATIN v. THOROUGHBRED POWER BOATS INC., 00-31283, 01-30881
In a complaint for injuries and damages after a boating accident, 1) the corporate veil of a boat manufacturer and its successor corporation was properly pierced, 2) successor liability existed where one corporation was a "mere continuation" of the other, and 3) the successor (and individual "alter ego") were bound by the predecessor corporation's voluntary submission to personal jurisdiction.
