United States Fifth Circuit

US v. MASON, 01-30538

When the government's primary witness at trial falsely stated that he had not entered into a plea agreement, the defense was prevented from effective cross-examination, and the jury was unable to properly evaluate the testimony. Therefore, convictions for conspiring to distribute crack cocaine are vacated.
