United States Fifth Circuit
DEMETTE v. FALCON DRILLING CO., INC., 00-30165
The Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act ("OCSLA") applies to a rig jacked-up over the outer continental shelf, but while Louisiana law does not apply as surrogate federal law under the OCSLA, the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Actby does, so the parties' indemnity agreement is valid.
