JEANMARIE v. US, 00-50039

The customs-duty exception to the Federal Tort Claims Act, 28 USC 2680(c), bars claims arising out of the detention of goods, including claims for injuries occurring during the detention of goods, so long as the claims are at least remotely related to the government agent's official duties.
