United States Fourth Circuit
US v. Gibbs, 17-4037
Affirmed a sentence for violating the conditions of supervised release in a case where the defendant contended that the 24-month sentence he received was plainly unreasonable because the district court did not adequately address his arguments in favor of a downward variance. But in a 2-1 decision affirming the sentence, the Fourth Circuit concluded that the district court had adequately addressed the defense arguments for a downward variance.
