United States Fourth Circuit
Lawson v. Union County Clerk of Court, 14-2360
In a former court clerk's challenge to her termination on First Amendment grounds, the District Court's grant of summary judgment to plaintiff, holding that she occupied a confidential or policymaking position and was subject to termination for campaigning against her boss, is reversed where defendant has established as a matter of law that plaintiff held a position for which political loyalty was required.
