United States Fourth Circuit
Hayes v. Delbert Services Corp., 15-1170
In an arbitration action arising from a class action lawsuit over defendant's debt collection practices related to servicing payday loans, the district court's order to compel arbitration is reversed and the court held that the arbitration agreement at issue is unenforceable because it categorically rejects the requirements of state and federal law and unambiguously forbids an arbitrator from applying the applicable law.
