United States Fourth Circuit

Petry v. Prosperity Mortgage Company, 13-1869

Judgment in favor of defendants in a class action alleging that the fees that defendant-lender charged at the closing of the purchase of plaintiffs' home violated the Maryland Finder's Fee Act, is affirmed, where because defendant-lender was identified as the lender in the documents executed at closing, it was not a "mortgage broker" as the Finder's Fee Act defines that term and therefore was not subject to the Act's provisions.
