Following summary judgment for defendant and its submission of a bill of costs related to electronically stored information (ESI), the district court correctly concluded that only the conversion of native files to TIFF and PDF formats, and the transfer of files onto CDs, constituted "making copies" under the federal taxation-of-costs statute, and that none of defendant's expenses constituted fees for exemplification.
