Tire Engineering and Dist. v. Shandong Linglong Rubber Co., 10-2271
In a suit by a producer of mining tires against foreign corporations, alleged defendants conspired to steal its tire blueprints, produce infringing tires, and sell them to entities that had formerly purchased products from plaintiff, the district court properly exercised jurisdiction over foreign defendants and it's judgment is: 1) affirmed in part where defendants are liable to plaintiff under the Copyright Act and for conversion under Virginia law; 2) dismissed in part as to the remaining theories of liability submitted to the jury; 3) affirmed in part as to the jury’s damages award; and 4) vacated as to the award of attorneys' fees.
