United States Fourth Circuit

Maryland Stadium Auth. v. Ellerbe Becket Inc., 04-1743

In a suit for breach of contract arising from the construction of a new arena for the University of Maryland, the district court lacked removal jurisdiction since the University is an alter ego of Maryland and, therefore, is not a "citizen" for purposes of diversity jurisdiction.
