MENTAVLOS v. ANDERSON, 00-1331

Male cadets at a state-supported and formerly all-male military college did not act "under color of" state law, within the meaning of 42 USC 1983, when they allegedly engaged in gender-based harassment and discrimination designed to force a female cadet to withdraw from the college.
