United States Third Circuit
US v. Green, 17-1576
Affirmed the denial of a motion to suppress drug evidence obtained during a traffic stop where police discovered approximately 20 pounds of heroin in the trunk of the defendant's car during a traffic stop that was extended to facilitate a dog sniff. The defendant argued that the traffic stop was both instigated and prolonged in violation of the Fourth Amendment, but the Third Circuit found no constitutional violation.
