Sconiers v. US, 17-3440

Affirmed that a driver involved in a crash with a U.S. Postal Service vehicle had waited too long to sue. The driver contended that her claim against the government under the Federal Tort Claims Act was timely because she had initiated it within two years of the tort. However, the Third Circuit disagreed, explaining that she additionally was required to file her lawsuit within six months of the postal service's written denial of her administrative tort claim, which she had not done, and consequently her lawsuit was time-barred.
