United States Third Circuit
US v. Sergio Velazquez, 12-3992
Conviction for selling cocaine in 2005 is reversed and remanded where defendant's Sixth Amendment right to a speedy trial was violated by the government when, after an initial effort to apprehend the defendant, the government's effort for nearly five years consisted only of running the defendant's name a handful of times through the National Crime Information Center database, despite other available leads.
