Estate of Arrington v. Michael, 13-1042

In an action arising out defendant's son's shooting of a woman with defendant's service weapon, the district court's denial of defendant's motion for summary judgment is reversed and remanded with instructions to dismiss the complaint, where defendant's conduct falls squarely within the immunity established by the Child Safety Lock Act of 2005, because defendant never gave defendant permission or authorization to have access to the gun, and defendant used a "secure gun storage or safety device" in storing his weapon.
