US v. Katzin, 12-2548
The district court's decision to suppress all evidence obtained as a result of the attachment of a GPS device to defendant's vehicle is affirmed, where: 1) the police must obtain a warrant prior to a GPS search; 2) the warrantless GPS search in this case cannot be excused on the basis of good faith; 2) all three brothers had standing to suppress the evidence recovered from defendant Harry Katzin's van.
