United States Third Circuit

US v. Williams, 11-2267

A district court order revoking supervised release and imposing a 24-month prison sentence is affirmed, where the sentence did not exceed the maximum permissible under 18 USC section 3583(e)(3), the court rejecting the argument that in cases in which more than one term of post-revocation imprisonment has been imposed, section 3583(h), governing the length of supervised release "tail," interacts with section 3583(e)(3) to reduce the maximum term by the amount of prison time a defendant served for previous release violations.
