United States Third Circuit

LeBoon v. Lancaster Jewish Cmty. Ctr. Ass'n, 05-2073

In an action brought by evangelical Christian former employee of a Jewish community center alleging discrimination on the basis of religion and retaliation for protected EEO activity, summary judgment for employer is affirmed as: 1) there was jurisdiction over the appeal; 2) during the relevant period the community center qualified as a "religious corporation, organization, or institution" exempted from the religious discrimination provisions of Title VII; 3) plaintiff failed to provide sufficient evidence of a causal link between her alleged EEO activity and her termination; and 4) there was no abuse of discretion in a denial of plaintiff's motion to reopen discovery.
