United States Third Circuit

JACKSON v. EGYPTIAN NAVIGATION CO., 02-3828

Plaintiff, injured when he slipped and fell off a 10 centimeter-wide board while unloading cargo from defendant's ship, has not shown that defendant violated its turnover duty. The ship has no duty to warn about an obvious hazard in the work area that a competent stevedore would be expected to discover while properly performing his duties.
