US v. PANARELLA, 01-1739

Under 18 USC 1343, in order to establish "honest services" fraud, it is not necessary to show that a politician's actions were influenced by his financial relationship with the defendant, but only that the politician unlawfully concealed a financial interest while taking discretionary action that directly benefited defendant.
