United States Second Circuit

Khalid v. Sessions, 16‐3480

Granted a petition for review of a Board of Immigration Appeals decision ordering a man removed from the U.S. based on his conviction for being involved in a terrorism-related conspiracy when he was a minor. The man argued that he could not be removed because he was a U.S. citizen through his recently naturalized father. Agreeing, the Second Circuit held that the Department of Homeland Security must terminate removal proceedings against him.
