Huebner v. Midland Credit Management Inc., 16‐2363

Affirmed sanctions imposed against a plaintiff for bringing a frivolous class action lawsuit alleging that a debt collection agency violated the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The plaintiff, who is a lawyer, claimed that the debt collection agency made multiple false or misleading representations to him. Finding his claims unsupported, the district court granted summary judgment to the collection agency and also sanctioned the plaintiff and his attorney for conduct during the litigation.
