Griffin v. Sirva Inc., 15-1307
In a suit brought by two former employees who terminated after their past criminal convictions were discovered through a background check, alleging their employer can be held liable under the New York State Human Rights Law, N.Y. Exec. Law section 290 et seq., for employment discrimination on the basis of their criminal convictions, three questions are certified to the New York Court of Appeal pursuant to New York Court of Appeals Rule 500.27 and Local Rule 27.2 of this Court.
