United States Second Circuit

Chettri v. Nepal Rastra Bank, 14-3724

In a suit brought by businesses who supply clothing and military equipment to Nepal, arising out of a frozen bank wire that was connected to the business transactions, the District Court's decision vacating a default judgment and dismissing the complaint is affirmed where subject matter jurisdiction is lacking because defendants are political subdivisions or agencies of the Government of Nepal and immune from suit under the Foreign Sovereign Immunities Act of 1976 (FSIA), 28 U.S.C. section 1602 et seq.
