United States Second Circuit

US v. Taylor, 14-360

Conviction for one count of conspiracy to distribute cocaine and seven counts of transaction structuring for the purpose of evading currency requirements, in violation of 31 U.S.C. section 5324, is affirmed as to the conspiracy count and reversed as to the transaction structuring account where there was insufficient evidence for the jury to conclude that defendant’s transactions constituted a pattern of structured transactions intended to invade currency reporting requirements.
