US v. Binday, 14-2809
Convictions for conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, mail fraud, wire fraud, and conspiracy to obstruct justice stemming from a stranger-oriented life insurance (STOLI) fraud scheme by defendant insurance brokers is affirmed where there was sufficient evidence that defendants contemplated cognizable harm to the insurers under the mail and wire fraud statutes, 18 U.S.C sections 1341 and 1343. The case was remanded for revising the restitution amount as agreed by the parties.
