American Civil Liberties Union v. Clapper, 14-42
In an appeal concerning the legality of the bulk telephone metadata collection program, the district court's judgment granting defendants' motion to dismiss and denying plaintiffs' request for a preliminary injunction is reversed in part where: 1) Section 215 of the Patriot Act and the statutory scheme to which it relates do not preclude judicial review; and 2) the bulk telephone metadata program is not authorized by Section 215.
