United States Second Circuit
Hicks v. Vane Line Bunkering, Inc., 13-1976
In a case alleging breach of maritime law duty of providing maintenance and cure following an injury, denial of motion to set aside a jury verdict is affirmed where: 1) the district court did not abuse its discretion in finding that the record supported the jury's pain-and-suffering award; and 2) a court may award both punitive damages and attorney's fees in an action for maintenance and cure.
