United States Second Circuit
Charron v. Wiener, 12-2834
The district court's order approving a class settlement regarding claims of fraud in setting and charging illegally high rents to tenants of rent-regulated apartments in New York City, is affirmed, where: 1) the district court was not required to establish subclasses for plaintiff-tenants who had overcharge claims that were excluded from the settlement; and 2) the settlement was fair, reasonable, and adequate, as required by Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 23(e)(2).
