Defendant's convictions for one count of importation of 500 grams or more of a substance containing methamphetamine and one count of possession with intent to distribute that substance are vacated and remanded, where the cumulative effect of various errors, including that defendant was improperly tried in shackles, the district court did not fulfill its obligation to investigate the allegation of juror misconduct, the district court gave an improper Allen charge, and certain lay and expert testimony was erroneously admitted at trial, undermined the guarantee of fundamental fairness to which the defendant is entitled.
