State of New York v. Shinnecock Indian Nation, 08-1194
In an action involving the development of an casino by the Shinnecock Indian Nation on a plot of land know as Westwoods, the District Court's order granting a permanent injunction prohibiting the Tribe from developing the casino without complying with the laws of New York State and the Town of Southampton, is reversed and remanded where the district court lacked subject matter jurisdiction over this action.
