U.S. v. Triumph Capital Group, Inc., 05-2630
Conviction and sentence for bribery, fraud, money-laundering, and false-statement charges, for defendant's role in former Treasurer of the State of Connecticut Paul Silvester's allegedly unlawful investment of state pension funds, is affirmed over primary claim that the district court violated defendant's Sixth Amendment right to counsel when, after defendant's first day of cross-examination, the court temporarily ordered defense counsel not talk with the defendant about his testimony during the evening recess.
