In a criminal prosecution following the Boston Marathon bombing, related to defendant's possible participation, three days later, in the removal and disposal of a backpack thought to contain evidence related to the attack from the college dormitory room of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, one of the bombing suspects and a friend of the defendant's at college, defendant's conviction of making false statements to federal authorities, 18 U.S.C. section 1001(a)(2), is affirmed over his contentions involving the admissibility of his confession, the exclusion of his expert witness on false confessions, and denial of his motion for acquittal.
