United States First Circuit
US v. Perretta, 14-1901
Sentence for guilty plea conviction of various acts of wire fraud and tax evasion, in violation of 18 U.S.C. section 1343 and 26 U.S.C. section 7201, is affirmed where: 1) defendant's unbridled greed, in the court's view, warranted a high-end guideline sentence and the court did not focus single-mindedly on the harm to the victims of the fraud; and 2) the sentence was substantively reasonable.
