United States First Circuit

US v. Serrano-Mercado, 13-1730

Sentence for a federal firearms crime is affirmed where the district court did not commit reversible error by: 1) it counting more than one of his prior convictions for Puerto Rico criminal offenses as a conviction for a "crime of violence" under the Sentencing Guidelines; and 2) considering the existence of an obliterated serial number on the frame of the firearm he was convicted of possessing, when the serial number on the slide was unaltered.
