United States First Circuit

US v. Jones, 13-1157

Defendant's convictions and life sentences for federal crimes related to his attempts to have sex with a child are: 1) affirmed as to the convictions where the trial judge did not err in admitting evidence of a prior conviction, and whether a conviction under 18 U.S.C. section 2260A requires an actual child has not been determine, so the trial judge did not plainly err in not taking up this issue; and 2) vacated as to defendant's life sentences and remanded for resentencing.
