United States First Circuit

Adamson v. Walgreens, 13-1511

Summary judgment in favor of defendant-employer on plaintiff's state and federal age discrimination claims is affirmed, where: 1) the district court properly concluded that defendant articulated a legitimate, nondiscriminatory reason for terminating plaintiff, namely, the two incidents of what it perceived as inadequate customer service; and 2) the record is devoid of evidence from which a jury could infer that defendant's proffered reason for terminating plaintiff was pretext designed to disguise age discrimination.
