United States First Circuit
Thapaliya v. Holder, 13-1582
The Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) did not err in affirming the Immigration Judge's (IJ) denial of petitioner's request for asylum, where: 1) the singular April 2003 incident of violence does not constitute past persecution; and 2) the evidence does not compel a conclusion that any genuine subjective fear of future persecution that petitioner harbors is an objectively reasonable one.
