United States First Circuit
HSBC Realty Credit Corp. v. O'Neill, 13-1214
Judgment for plaintiff in an action to recover $8.1 million from defendant under a guaranty is affirmed, where: 1) reliance on supposed misrepresentations that contradict the terms of the parties' agreement is unreasonable as a matter of law and so cannot support a fraudulent-inducement claim; 2) there is no ambiguity in the guaranty's limitations-on-guaranteed-obligations clause; and 3) defendant's remaining arguments fail.
