United States First Circuit

US v. Ryan, 11-2341

The district court properly denied defendant's motion to suppress evidence obtained after a lawful stop, but outside the arresting officer's jurisdiction, where: 1) because defendant's arrest was supported by probable cause, it did not violate his Fourth Amendment privacy interests and the district court was not required to exclude the evidence obtained following the arrest; and 2) the Fourth Amendment does not require exclusion of evidence gathered after an arrest made outside of a federal law enforcement officer's statutory jurisdiction.
