United States First Circuit

In re Bulger, 12-2488

Defendant's petition for writ of mandamus challenging the district judge's refusal to recuse himself, is granted, because despite respect for the district judge, it is clear that a reasonable person would question the capacity for impartiality of any judicial officer with the judge's particular background in the federal prosecutorial apparatus in Boston during the period covered by the accusations.
