United States First Circuit
US v. Parks, 11-1194
Defendant's sentence and conviction for traveling in interstate commerce and knowingly failing to update his sex offender registration at his destination as required by the Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA), are affirmed where: 1) defendant's challenges to the constitutionality of SORNA are without merit; and 2) the district court did not abuse its discretion and the sentence, being within the guideline range, did not violate the so-called "parsimony principle."
