United States First Circuit
Rockwood v. SKF USA Inc., 11-1105
In a suit based on a promissory estoppel theory, based on allegations that plaintiffs agreed to personally guarantee certain loans in reliance on promises by defendant to invest in a joint business venture and to purchase plaintiffs' company, the district court's grant of summary judgment to defendant is affirmed where it correctly interpreted the Third Amended Complaint as abandoning any promissory estoppel argument based on a promise by defendant to invest $10 million in the effort to sell Environamics products.
