McCarty v. Verizon New England, Inc., 11-1430
An award of attorney's fees to the defendants as a sanction against the plaintiff's attorney is affirmed, where: 1) the plaintiff's tort suit was frivolous; 2) two unsuccessful workers' compensation claims had already been filed by the attorney; and 3) the district court explicitly warned the attorney that sanctions were possible, but the attorney ignored the warning even after the plaintiff's state appeal had failed.
