In a series of civil cases arising out of the unholy alliance between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and a notorious mobster, James J. "Whitey" Bulger, the plaintiffs' claims against the US under the Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) are time-barred, thus the district court's denial of the government's motions to dismiss is reversed and remanded with instructions to vacate the judgments previously entered, and to enter judgment in favor of the US in each case. Cross appeal is dismissed as moot.
