United States First Circuit
Adams v. Adams, 09-1443
In a father's suit seeking enforcement of the terms of a promissory note executed by his son in connection with funds given by the father to help his son purchase a home, denial of the son's motion to dismiss the complaint is reversed as plaintiff has not demonstrated by a preponderance of the evidence that the son's actions related to the note constitute sufficient purposeful availment to allow for the exercise of personal jurisdiction.
