United States First Circuit
Torres-Negron v. J & N Records, LLC, 06-2058
In a copyright infringement action arising out of the distribution of a song written by the plaintiff, judgment as a matter of law for defendants is affirmed where the court lacked jurisdiction over the complaint since plaintiff failed to submit a complete application for registration of his copyright, and a complete application is a jurisdictional prerequisite to filing suit in federal court for copyright infringement.
