United States First Circuit
US v. Gilman, 06-1376
Sentence for violation of the Investment Advisers Act and mail and wire fraud is affirmed over defendant's arguments that his sentence was unreasonably high in light of various mitigating circumstances, and that the district court erred by: 1) placing too much weight on the advisory sentencing guidelines; 2) failing to explain adequately the reasons for the sentence imposed; and 3) taking into account impermissible considerations as part of the sentencing decision.
